KCD-Mikrofinanzfonds (FIS) I "Global"

There are approximately 10,000 microfinance organisations (MFIs) across the world but they often do not have enough financial resources to satisfy the demand for loans. With this KCD- Mikrofinanzfonds, we provide financially stable and well-run microfinance institutions with refinancing funds.

In this case, FIS (Fonds d' Investissement Spécialisé) refers being a special funds with unit classes in Euro and US-Dollar.

The special feature of the fund is that the handling is fully by BIB. This means that we are the creator, investor, distributor and fund manager. By taking on all these roles, we are making sure that we know each and every microfinance institution in the fund very well.

Before we give MFIs loans, we carry out extremely thorough checks on the figures and the people involved. In addition to extensive reporting requirements, we speak face-to-face with the management, employees and also with end clients, the microentrepreneurs. We only give out a loan if everything is just right. This can be directly or indirectly via the fund.
